What is a Wax Melt?
Wax melts have become extremely popular over the last few years, however not everyone is familiar with them, so what exactly is a wax melt?. A scented wax melt is a piece of wax that can come in many different shapes or sizes and unlike a candle it is wick less, it is heated up in a wax melt burner to release the fragrance. Wax melts can be used in the traditional tea-light burners or they can also be used in the more modern electric burners, whichever type you choose the result is the same, a beautiful smelling room.
What type of Wax do we use?
All of our wax melts are made using our own natural blend, when we started originally we used a Soy blend however after a lot of research we discovered that our new blend is the most eco-friendly choice with a lower carbon footprint than many other imported plant waxes such as soy, coconut and palm wax. It is also Vegan friendly and no animal testing has been carried out in its manufacture, it has an excellent hot throw and is a clean burning wax meaning no nasty toxins.
How should I use my Wax Melt?
To use a wax melt, remove from its packaging and place into the well of your wax melt burner making sure that the burner is completely dry of liquids and has no damage (cracks) then place your tea light candle in the bottom and light your tea light candle. We only recommend using tea-lights that are 4 hours or less and this is due to a couple of reasons, the first being safety, you should never allow your burner to get too hot or to be used for excessive periods of time and secondly using a tea-light that is too big can cause for the fragrance to burn off prematurely meaning the wax melt wont last as long as it should.
You can generally use the same piece of wax to 2 or 3 Tea-lights.
Once the fragrance has dissapeared or you cant smell it as much as you would like, you can remove the wax melt and then clean and prepare your burner for a new piece.
How do I remove my Wax Melt
To remove your Wax melt from its burner, you can do this 1 of 2 ways
The first would be to heat the wax melt for a couple of minutes just enough time to start melting but not fully melted and then pop it out with your finger, or you can melt it fully and soak up the contents with a cotton wool pad.
